Janubi Zakhrafa

A visual portrayal
of
gratitude and reverence

In Quran 49:2, companions of
Beloved Prophet Muhammed (SAW) are
instructed to not raise their voices above that of
Beloved Prophet Muhammed (SAW).

Likewise, Janubi Zakhrafa illumination will be in the
service of Islamic Calligraphy,
attempting to practice restraint, to not ‘raise its voice’
over that of the Islamic Calligraphy it adorns.

Where patterns are bold,
colours can be quiet;
where patterns cover a large
area, strong, delicate lines
befit the space.

Rooted in discipline and devotion,
each illumination piece becomes
a softly spoken setting for
the Words of ultimate Beauty and Guidance.

-beauty awaiting Beauty-

Beauty Awaiting Beauty

Forming softly, shades and hues
Tones and tints, suggesting News
Building up strongly from the hush
Every stroke, of paint and brush
beauty awaiting Beauty
beauty awaiting Splendour
When on the paper the pen proclaims
“I am your voice now you can speak”
